🐬 Where It Began

🐬 In 2004, my life was deeply shaped by a relationship with a wild dolphin named Malinka. What unfolded was not an experience to seek or repeat, but a long process of learning — about presence, boundaries, trust, and respect. Malinka did not teach me techniques. She taught me how connection arises naturally when we listen, observe, and allow space for choice. This story is shared to remind us of the quiet greatness of being human — and how deeply proud we can feel when we remember who we truly are.

🌊 In Gratitude

I want to acknowledge Malinka — for her presence, her patience, and everything she has taught me without words. Through her, I learned how to listen, how to respect space, and how to meet another being without expectation. She showed me that true teaching does not come from instruction, but from presence, clarity, and choice. Malinka has been my teacher, my mirror, and my guide. Not because she asked to be, but because I was willing to listen. I am deeply grateful for every moment of learning, every shared silence, and every reminder of what connection can be when it is rooted in respect and love. Through her presence, I was reminded of the essence of our humanity and in that remembering, I learned to feel proud of being human and to recognise the quiet power of open hearts returning to the Earth. She remains my guru showing me again and again what it means to live with awareness, humility, and an open heart.

🌊 On Animals and Respect

Animals are not here to perform for us, validate us, or serve our experiences. They are autonomous beings with their own awareness, rhythms, and boundaries.  Any closeness that arises happens through their choice — how close, for how long, and at what pace. Humans remain present, receptive, and responsive. Distance is honoured as much as closeness.  This ethic of listening and respect is central to all my work..

🌱 Life with the Ocean

This work is also shaped by my family.  My partner, George Karbus, is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker whose eye captures the ocean with honesty and depth. His work reflects a sense of courage, curiosity, and adventure that continually inspires me to explore — both outwardly and inwardly. All of the beautiful images on my website were captured by him, with great care and sensitivity.

Our children, Joshua and Natalie, are deeply connected to the Oceas. As surfers and animal lovers, they move through the water with respect, joy, and awareness. Being alongside them has reinforced everything this work stands for — that connection is lived, embodied, and passed on through presence, not instruction.

Baby and preschool swimming instructor

I also work with surfers, water athletes, and young swimmers through applied breath and CO₂ tolerance trainings, as well as baby and preschool swimming lessons, all focused on safety, awareness, and confidence in the ocean and water environments.

Embodied Ocean Retreats

Experiential retreats rooted in breath, presence, and direct relationship with the ocean. Learning happens through the body, nature, and lived experience — not theory or performance.

Presence in Stillness & Intensity

Practices that support awareness in all conditions  calm or powerful, quiet or fast. Through intuitive breathwork and somatic awareness, participants learn to stay connected in real moments, on land and in the water.

Learning in Relationship

This work unfolds in relationship — with yourself, with others, and with the living world. Nature and ocean life are approached with respect, choice, and humility, allowing connection to arise naturally.
